Llacs de Pessons Hike – One of the Most Iconic Trails in Andorra

The Llacs de Pessons hike is one of the most iconic hiking trails in Andorra. Located in the Grau Roig sector in the parish of Encamp, this spectacular route takes you deep into one of the most impressive alpine landscapes in the Andorran Pyrenees.

You start the hike at the el Cubil car park. The trail crosses the magnificent Pessons glacial cirque, the largest granite cirque in Andorra. This high-mountain basin is famous for its chain of beautiful glacial lakes, known locally as estanys, which make this hike one of the most scenic routes for anyone interested in hiking in Andorra.

The route can be completed as a circular hike by following parts of the GR®7 and GRP long-distance trails. Along the way you will pass a series of up to seven permanent alpine lakes as well as several smaller seasonal ponds, all surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery.
