Looking for a short but unforgettable hike in Andorra? This beautiful 2.5-hour loop in the Comapedrosa Communal Natural Park is the perfect choice. Starting just outside Arinsal, this route offers a diverse mix of landscapes, peaceful nature, and a true mountain escape.
A Scenic Start Just Outside Arinsal
You begin by parking just outside Arinsal. After walking uphill for a short stretch on an asphalt road, the transformation is immediate—you’ll feel like you’ve entered a completely different world. The sounds of the village fade away, replaced by fresh mountain air and untouched nature.
What to Expect on This 2.5-Hour Loop
This circular hike takes approximately 2.5 hours and offers a surprisingly varied experience, leading you across wide open meadows where horses graze peacefully, past idyllic old mountain huts known as traditional bordas, and along narrow forest trails surrounded by pine trees. Along the way, you’ll encounter several steep and challenging climbs that keep the hike engaging and dynamic. In one of the darkest sections of the forest, we suddenly felt the ground beneath the trail tremble and realized that a very large animal was running away from us, whether it was a wild boar or a brown bear, we’ll never know!
This rich combination of landscapes and moments makes it one of the most rewarding short hikes in Andorra.
Tip
Although relatively short, this hike includes some steep sections that can be physically demanding. Hiking poles are highly recommended to improve stability and reduce strain on your knees—especially on the descents.

Restaurant tips
When you return to the car, there isn’t really a nice spot nearby to grab a drink. Luckily, you’re just a short drive from Arinsal, where you can head to Hunters Sports Bar & Grill (open all day for food and drinks) or Surf Arinsal (great for lunch and dinner). Both are personal favorites of ours!
